SAYAWAN SA 1TAHANAN DANCE CHALLENGE GUIDELINES

1. MATERIAL TREATMENT

This is a dance/music video competition using the 1TAHANAN Jingle 2024. Entries must have a modern, millennial feel rendered with pop culture treatment and texture. Materials may be loosely inspired by BINI, KPop, Hiphop, all-boy band, all-female group, any pop groups, or single artist music videos, which should cater to all ages, all sectors, and all genders. Entries must illustrate the Filipino values of “bayanihan”, industriousness, resilience amidst challenges, and perseverance. It must also depict a typical Filipino home in an environment of love, understanding, and care. Overall,   entries must portray a feel-good, celebratory vibe. The material is a promotional video for political purposes hence must be suitable for all audiences. It must not contain offensive, discriminatory, lewd, and such other visually foul elements in any form. Make it fun, colorful, animated and wholesome.

2. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Open to all professional and amateur dancers and dance groups residing in the Philippines.
  • Dancers must be of legal age (18 years old and above).
  • The group must have a minimum of 5 members and maximum of 8 main dancers/main cast.
  • Background dancers/ extras/ dance chorus/ crowd/mob dancers are allowed. No limit as to number.
  • The dance video must be executed with proficiency from production to post-production.
  • The required music (1Tahanan Jingle 2024) must be used as it is. No editing of the music is allowed.
  • The entry must have the required elements stipulated below.

3. REQUIRED ELEMENTS

  • 3.1 DANCE STEPS 

    Entries must create original dance steps for the required jingle. However, while choreographers are given the artistic freedom on the choreography, the dance steps must be easy to follow and must have mass appeal, in the tradition of dance craze and pop dance trends. Be imaginative. Amaze the audience.


     3.2 PRODUCTION/SET DESIGN

    Depending on the concept of the dance video, backgrounds, scenes, sets of the dance can be either indoor or outdoor. This means, dance routines may be shot in actual locations, studio set-up, green screen set-up, or a combination of any of these treatments. Video clips to be used in the entry must be originally taken and not a splice of existing or previously published material. Be cinematic. Captivate the audience


    3.3 COSTUME AND PROPS

    Costume is required. It could be uniform, thematic or coordinated depending on the concept/theme of the entry. It must be well-appropriated without prejudice to cultural sensitivity. The preferred (not required) dominant color palette for costume and/or props is red, blue and white. Sexy costume is allowed but should not be lewd. Costume must be visual, not vulgar. Be ingenious. Dazzle the audience.


    3.4 LOGO VISUAL

    The dance video must feature the 1Tahanan official logo and the numbers 118. A high-resolution digital file of the logo will be provided. The logo may be animated (post prod), used as background, used in props, or in costume, as long as it is not distorted and redesigned. The number 118 may also be used as props. Be creative. Delight the audience.


    3.5 FINAL VIDEO OUTPUT / ENTRY

    The final output may be edited in any video editing mobile app or software program. It has to be in portrait format, viewable in any smart or android mobile phones. All footage to be used for the video entry may be shot using any mobile device camera as long as the video output is of good quality. Be resourceful. Impress the audience.

4. SUBMISSION, POSTING AND PRE-SELECTION

  1. Only entries that have officially registered in this official online registration portal and are duly received, can be recognized as official entries.
  2. The required music and logo can be downloaded from this official registration portal after agreeing to the terms and conditions of this contest.
  3. Only after the online registration can entries be posted on Facebook. The group must choose only one account on which the entry is to be posted.
  4. One-entry-one-posting policy will be followed. This is to easily monitor the shares and engagements of the entry.
  5. The Facebook link on which the entry is posted must be submitted to the link provided through an email after the registration. This is the official submission address. This means, if the link is not received in this portal, then it is not an official entry.
  6. Upon posting, the caption must include the following

    2. Registration Code acquired upon registration. 
  7. The deadline for submission of entries will be January 05, 2025.
  8. The top 10 entries with the highest number of shares shall automatically be selected for the final round.
  9. The list of 10 finalists will be posted on the official Facebook page of 1Tahanan Partylist (https://www.facebook.com/@1Tahanan).
  10. Only the 10 finalists will be judged for the selection of the winner. However, all posted entries officially registered, submitted, and received, and with the required hashtag and registration code, are qualified for the People’s Favorite Award.

5. PUBLICATION OF 10 FINALIST

  1. The 10 entries selected for the final round will be officially shared/posted on the official Facebook page of 1Tahanan Partylist. (https://www.facebook.com/@1Tahanan) on January 21, 2025.
  2. The official judging will be on January 31, 2025.
  3. Official date of announcement of winners will be posted on February 2, 2025, at (https://www.facebook.com/@1Tahanan), the official Facebook page of 1Tahanan Partylist.

6. CRITERIA FOR JUDGING

The ten finalists will be judged according to the following set of criteria.

ARTISTIC (20 points) i.e., Dance Choreography, Concept/Thematic Execution

TECHNICAL (20 points) i.e., Editing (Video and Sound), Technical Proficiency

PRODUCTION VALUE (20 points) i.e., Cinematography/Photography, Production/Visual Design

SOCMED APPEAL (40 points) i.e., Reactions and Shares

  • Shares (20 points) (Bracketed score distribution determined by organizers) 
  • Reacts (20 points) (Bracketed score distribution determined by organizers)

7. PRIZES

There shall only be one grand winner. The nine consolation prize winners will each receive P30,000.00. 

There shall also be one winner for the People’s Favorite Award. Winners will be officially notified and will be instructed as to the procedure of claiming prizes.

GRAND PRIZE (1 winner )   P 118,000.00

CONSOLATION (9 winners)  P   30,000.00 each

PEOPLE’S FAVORITE (1 winner )   P   30,000.00

8. CONSENT AND WAIVER

  1. Entries that lack any or all of the elements as herein stipulated, and any violation or nonconformity thereof shall render the entry ineligible for official selection. Only entries that meet the set requirements shall qualify.
  2. Entries submitted after the deadline set shall not be considered as official entry.
  3. Upon submission of the entry, the producers, dancers, production personnel, and all individuals appearing on the entry, and those involved in its filming and production, hereby waive their rights to claim any other remuneration, except for what has been stipulated as prizes for winning entries and as consolation.
  4. Upon submission of entry, the producers, dancers, production personnel, and all individuals appearing on the entry, and those involved in its filming and production, relinquish their intellectual property rights to the said video and its content in favor of the organizer and authorizes the latter to publish, print, photograph, videotape, record or reproduce the same.
  5. Once the entry is selected as finalist and once their entry is awarded any prize, it will be published/uploaded on various social media platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Tiktok) and shown on television and public presentation media, to which, the producers, dancers, production personnel, and all individuals appearing on the entry, and those involved in its filming and production, give their full consent.
